Naturals To Know: Tiffany Walker-Mejia
1 How long have you been a natural? Did you transition? If so, how?
I have been a natural for about 6 years now. I transitioned when my daughter was almost a year old. I was tired of trying to figure out to do with my hair so I did the big chop and have been natural every since.
2 Describe your hair in three words.
Funky, fun, and free.
3 How are you currently wearing your hair? What is your hair routine? What products do you use?
Currently I am wearing twist braids with the sides of my hair shaved low.
My weekly routine is very simple. Once a week I do a simple wash using a spray bottle with a mixture of water and Fantasia Tea Tree Natural Shampoo sprayed throughout my twists. Then I use Mixed Chicks Leave In Conditioner and Organic Root Stimulator Coconut Oil for the scalp and style it.
4 Name one thing that you learned about your hair after becoming a natural.
I learned that there are sooooo many options to wearing your hair natural besides straight. Being natural is a lifestyle and a huge sense of freedom!
