1 How long have you been a dread? What influenced your decision? What does being a dread mean to you?

I have been dreaded for about 2 years and 2 months. This is my 2nd time locking my hair since I had to cut it for school.

At first I was influenced by learning about the background on them. The more I learned, the more I was dedicated to getting them.

To me  they mean I am placing a value on myself high enough that I express who I am even if the society that I live in doesn’t accept it at times. Dreading is a journey into finding myself.

2 Describe your hair in three words.

Natty, freeformed, & thick.

3 What is your hair routine? What products do you use?

My hair routine is really just washing it once every two weeks and oiling my scalp. As for products I usually use Jamaican Mango & Lime Shampoo and Organic Root Stimulator Hair Lotion. I also let my dreads air dry.

6 A final word of advice for new dreadss?

If you’re planning to dread your hair or just started, be patient and don’t worry too much about it. The only thing you should worry about is keeping it cleaned and your scalp oiled. Everything else is not important unless you work, then do what you need to do to it lol.
