Natural Hair At Taste Of Soul

Taste of Soul Entrance

Taste of Soul takes place annually in Los Angeles during the month of October.

As the city’s largest street fair, it features a taste of all things “soulful,” including food from local restaurants, live entertainment, displays from local artists, and exhibits from local businesses and organizations.

This year it was held October 20th. As you can see by the pictures, the threat of impending rain didn’t affect turnout.

I saw all types of interesting and talented street performers, including a violinist rocking Alicia Keys and a…um…tree man (?)

His outfit had me stumped. *cue laugh track*

After walking for a while, you could stop for a game of chess.

Don’t try to play her out.

There were six different stages, including one for gospel and one for reggae.

I hung out for a bit at the Star Quest stage, which was hosted by Wesley Jonathan. He’s currently starring on TV in “The Soul Man.”

Here he is with co-star Jazz Raycole. She also played Angela Bassett‘s daughter in Waiting To Exhale and was the original big sister on “My Wife and Kids.”
